S.H.G. for Tourism Development, trading as Soluna Hotels (“Soluna,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through soluna-hotels.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
S.H.G. for Tourism Development, operating Soluna Hotels at Katameya Coast, North Coast, Matrouh Governorate, Egypt. For any privacy request, please write to info@soluna-hotels.com.
We process personal information under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and, where the visitor is located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR. Where these regimes differ, we apply the stronger protection.
When you use our contact form or write to us by email, phone, or WhatsApp, we collect what you choose to send — typically your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message or reservation enquiry (dates, guests, preferences).
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the date and time of your subscription, and the IP address used to subscribe (for anti-abuse and audit-trail purposes only). Submitting the newsletter form is a clear affirmative act by which you consent to receive our newsletter and to the processing of your email as described here. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by writing to info@soluna-hotels.com.
When you visit the website we log limited technical information — your IP address, user agent, the date/time of the visit, and (for our contact form) whether it was submitted successfully. This is used for security, spam prevention, and diagnostics.
Our website itself sets only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie
(PHPSESSID), a form-security token (_csrf), and a cookie that remembers
you’ve seen our cookie notice (soluna_consent). We do not run our own analytics,
advertising, or tracking. Our reservation platform, payment provider, and the embedded Google Map
on our Contact page may set their own cookies — full details are in our
Cookie Policy.
Under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases (Article 6(1)):
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:
bookings.soluna-hotels.com, when you proceed to make a booking. Your reservation information is processed by our third-party reservation platform, and where you choose to pay online, your payment information is processed securely by our third-party payment service provider on our behalf. Some of our service providers may process data outside Egypt or the EEA. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards — for example, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or the provider’s certification under a recognised framework.
Enquiry and reservation information is kept only for as long as we need it to respond to you, fulfil the purpose it was collected for, and meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations (typically up to five years from the end of the relevant financial year, unless a longer period is required by law). After that, it is deleted or anonymised. Newsletter and marketing subscription information is kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw your consent, or request that we delete your personal information, unless we are required by law to retain it for a longer period.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — HTTPS in transit, access controls, and regular security review — to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Depending on your location, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal information: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority — in Egypt, the Personal Data Protection Center; in the EU/UK, your national supervisory authority (for example, the CNIL in France, the AEPD in Spain, or the ICO in the United Kingdom).
To exercise any right, write to info@soluna-hotels.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (30 days under GDPR; 60 days under Egypt PDPL).
This website is not directed at children under the age of consent in their country (16 in most of the EU, 13 in the UK, and as set out in Egyptian law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at info@soluna-hotels.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to inform you.
